Amen!! I have been thinking about the new commandment. I think people forget that it is a command...and that ALL laws, rules and God's expectations are fulfilled when we love God AND our neighbor. When I even offer a glass of water to my neighbor....when I do the simplest things for those I come into contact with each day...at the store, at the gym, anywhere!...I'm doing it for Jesus. Serving is not earning our salvation....however, it is God's way of showing our love for Him...which is why they were put together in the same commandment, and why we are thus told to love God AND our neighbor.

There has been days where a person just smiled at me, or asked how I was....and it was often those people....who were doing the simplest things...made my day!, and reminded me that God loved me.

Hello,
When I 1st got saved I did feel the difference between myself and the world. I felt the shock of the difference between both worlds. Now, many years later, God has shown me and is giving me (more and more) a more Christ-like outlook. When Christ went out each day, it is very apparent that He loved being with people and serving and blessing and reaching out to them....and because of how much He had the loving concern for others, they more than not responded positively to Him. In fact they would follow in droves. They rarely gave Him the cold shoulder during His ministry. Yes, later when it came time for His crucifixtion, then people followed (like sheep) the prevailing sentiments of those that wanted to kill Him.

I find so much joy in being Christ to others. It is not a burden at all....and actually, God wants us to be blessed as we do it. In fact, when we are Christ's hands, feet and love towards others, we might be the only time they experience Christ and the difference they see in us can make ALL the difference to them. The Holy Spirit can use us to begin a work in them...and I don't want to miss out on that!

Ah, those dark corners and cobwebs! You are so right, the more time we spend in God's Word, the better able we are to clean those corners out. I am finding that things that didn't bother me years ago, really offend my senses now. Thanks for sharing!
